What can we say about Tyson… He is truly the dog that put MANSTOPPERS on the map in the AB world. We already had a kennel full of top of the line breeding stock…. but we obviously hadn’t done enough yet… because it was almost like a light switch turned on in people immediately after the purchase of Tyson…We no longer had to advertise in “Dogworld” … saving us thousands a year in advertising. At the time we were spending 700$ a month… and honestly... the ad gave us decent exposure.. but the purchase of Tyson had the phone ringing off the hook…. Tyson’s name and legacy is a legacy that will be hard to ever duplicate. Whether you liked him and his type or not.. he is one of two American Bulldogs that have earned the right to remain immortalized in a “line”. You will often hear people refer to their ABs having a certain amount of”Tyson” in them…ie. Double Tyson, Triple Tyson, Tyson top and bottom..etc. Tyson was the biggest dog we ever owned. We kept him around 140#... but at one point he weighed a whopping 148#. He brought a lot to the table despite his huge frame. He defied many misconceptions that go hand in hand with a large bully AB of his extremities. For instance Tyson was an excellent breather. He had OFA Good hips and was known to produce good hips on a consistent basis. He could jump into the back of my full size truck that was lifted with swampers. He had good working drive… but he was a spoiled, selfish housedog… so he only turned it on when necessary or when he chose to. BUT WHEN HE DID… watch out now. His temperament was ROCK solid!! Rob Boyd has worked many great American Bulldogs... when Matt Boyd asked him who his favorite was.. he told him Tyson.. and I understand why he would say that. Sure he wasn’t your typical mega athlete that is going to shake your fillings on a long bite… but when a dog engages into the battle… a good decoy will read what is going on in the dogs mind… and if you appreciate that kind of thing (guilty..LOL)… you remember the dogs that were “real” as opposed to the ones that just got the “routine” done. Tyson has been dead for 5 years now… we keep his ashes on top of the mantle…along with the ashes of another fallen legend “Bubba”. We plan on using the frozen semen we have stored sometime in 2006. 2 other Tyson breedings are being done for sure in 2006.. watch out for them… I’ll keep everyone posted. There is a limited amount of the frozen Tyson semen that I would consider selling.   RIP Tyson....
